Secrets (Cellar Door) [Commentary]
So, Secrets (Cellar Door) is the first song of the album
but coincidentally the first song I recorded as well.
It's the only song I've demoing sounds for and
well, then keeping the demo as the actual foundation.
That usually doesn't happen.
But the song covers two kids who were, neighbors,
and over the course of the song, they both through they owned
a secret they've been hiding and that is they both interact with the dead.
The narrator's the young girl who can bring dead animals back to life.
She's been afraid to show her neighbor, her best friend,
for fear he would reject her.
But she finally gets the courage to show and,
instead of being upset,
he actually asked her to show bring his old bird back to life.
He always, was bothered that he never got to say goodbye,
and so she does, and afterwards he reviews a secret of his own.
So the boy-his name is Kyle-is a descendant of the familyline
that starts with the track, Kin.
Kin is a song on the Roots and it's about a guy who
gets eh, blood transfusion from his strange cousin eh,
that guy's Stone from his own, Severus and Stone.
After their blood mixes, some odd happens and after that,
he can hear his dead relatives all over his house.
This strait passes on to his children and
we hear about that in the song, it's The Crooked Kind.
That's his son, learning to deal with the same issue.
And his little brother has it as well.
And then that person he has his own son, that's Kyle,
and the song Secrets.And yeah, he has an same issue,
and he even goes step further,
he doesn't only hear them, he can see them as well.
But yeah, it's course of Secret is about...
revealing yourself to someone and...
finding calm rather than rejection.
