The Song of Wandering Aengus
I went out to the hazel wood,
Because a fire was in my head,
And cut and peeled a hazel wand,
And hooked a berry to a thread;
And when white moths were on the wing,
And moth-like stars were flickering out,
I dropped the berry in a stream
And caught a little silver trout.
When I had laid it on the floor
I went to blow the fire a-flame,
But something rustled on the floor,
And someone called me by my name:
It had become a glimmering girl
With apple blossom in her hair
Who called me by my name and ran
And faded through the brightening air.
Though I am old with wandering
Through hollow lands and hilly lands,
I will find out where she has gone,
And kiss her lips and take her hands;
And walk among long dappled grass,
And pluck till time and times are done,
The silver apples of the moon,
The golden apples of the sun.

[00:07.40]I went out to the hazel wood,
[00:17.08]Because a fire was in my head,
[00:25.49]And cut and peeled a hazel wand,
[00:32.02]And hooked a berry to a thread;
[00:40.93]And when white moths were on the wing,
[00:50.70]And moth-like stars were flickering out,
[00:59.26]I dropped the berry in a stream
[01:05.34]And caught a little silver trout.
[01:10.51]
[01:14.24]When I had laid it on the floor
[01:24.31]I went to blow the fire a-flame,
[01:32.72]But something rustled on the floor,
[01:38.98]And someone called me by my name:
[01:47.84]It had become a glimmering girl
[01:57.77]With apple blossom in her hair
[02:06.27]Who called me by my name and ran
[02:12.62]And faded through the brightening air.
[02:17.60]
[02:21.35]Though I am old with wandering
[02:30.11]Through hollow lands and hilly lands,
[02:38.89]I will find out where she has gone,
[02:45.27]And kiss her lips and take her hands;
[02:54.08]And walk among long dappled grass,
[03:03.64]And pluck till time and times are done,
[03:12.46]The silver apples of the moon,
[03:18.96]The golden apples of the sun.
