Gerontologist Visit
Saw my doc for an annual check
Thought he would say that I'm a wreck
Drew some blood to take a look
With the results could write a book

Scary what the results did show
Some are high and some are low
Lots of numbers I have to change
To get them back to normal range

Say goodby to bread and rice
If I eat sugar I'll pay the price
No more candy or ice cream either
I'll have to empty out my freezer

No more taters or key lime pie
Or anything I have to fry
No more sodas or milky shakes
No more cookies or fancy cakes

Can't eat pasta and garlic bread
No more jam and jelly spread
I can't eat dairy or meats anymore
What will I buy at the store

Lettuce and greens are now
My friends broccoli kale
And asparagus ends
Raw carrots and cabbage beats
And peas none of these can add any cheese

Need to find new pleasures in life
I have no pet or even a wife
I'd write some more of these
But hey I can't remember
What I was going to say
