[00:01.49]In Stockholm, 1982, [00:06.06]I grew up in a world where everything was possible. [00:09.31]No limitation, no racial or financial issues. [00:13.25]A world full of hopes and dreams. [00:16.95]I lost my dad when I was 14, [00:19.13]I lost my stepdad at the age of 18, [00:21.72]both by the consequence of violence. [00:25.57]My dad was murdered, [00:26.98]and my stepdad died after years of struggling on the wheelchair [00:30.02]that violence put him in. [00:33.27]It threw me off life(?). [00:35.25]It took something that was so precious away from me [00:37.18]that I started to see the issue we have in our society. [00:40.77]I could now see racism, classism, [00:43.56]and the discomfort amongst the middle-class. [00:47.06]A world full of violence, [00:49.34]and it was something I hadn't seen before. [00:52.08]A world that was dark and bitter. [00:56.93]Shortly after my realization, I discovered something special, [01:00.88]so special that it drown all the negativity and darkness. [01:04.88]I discovered music, the powerful language of unity. [01:11.92]Music healed depression, slaughtered racism, and strangled struggle(?). [01:18.45]Music has no religion, no color, nor limit. [01:22.45]Music was a cure, my ear, my blood. [01:27.56]It kept my heart beating, and it made me who I am. [01:33.23]My wish for us now is to take a moment, [01:36.17]and reflect on what's going on in the world; [01:39.35]to tune in, and feel the power to end our bad lies within all of us. [01:45.13]Together we can change the world, make it a better place; [01:50.10]make it a place of happiness and unity, undivided. [01:56.71]So take a moment together to gather strength and start this day, [02:00.33]feeling as important as it can be. [02:03.02]The power is ours. [02:05.71]Take a moment.
